Week 9 Recap and Week 10 Bulletin
Week 9 gave campers a chance to make some sensational scientific discoveries!
🖌️Campers crafted a Galaxy-in-a-Jar, static butterflies, their own scratch art, painted stars, and creature “fossils”.
👟Physical activity this week included lots of practice for the group dances, as well as fun with jumbo Jenga blocks.
🎉Campers enjoyed special activities on Wednesday including a Double-Dutch Jump-Rope Clinic and a visit from the “Energy In Action” Mobile Interactive Exhibit.
🧬For STEM this week, campers helped Mr. EJ create a “Fire Snake”, which included using yeast, baking soda, and sand. After Mr. EJ added flame to the combination, a chemical reaction caused gasses from the materials to create a snake-like structure that grew from the base.
🚴♀️Bold Adventures Campers ventured into sensational science exploration, visiting Sacred Heart University’s Discovery Science Center on Monday and the Connecticut Science Center on Tuesday. To redeem their rescheduled trip from Week 8, campers visited TreeTrails Adventures for ziplining and ropes courses high among the summer foliage. On Thursday, they visited the CT Audobon Society Coastal Center at Milford Point, where they learned about birds and nature native to coastal Connecticut.
NEXT WEEK – WEEK 10 “G.O.A.T. WEEK” 🐐 FINAL WEEK OF CAMP
