Week 8 Recap and Week 9 Bulletin
Week 8 was full of exploration and adventures with nature!
🖌️This week’s crafts included decorating a bird house, creating and personalizing binoculars, creating colored kinetic sand, an animal diorama, and putting together an edible “worms in dirt” cup as a fun snack.
👟To explore the outdoors, campers were challenged to complete a nature scavenger hunt, played a chain relay, and various outdoor games.
🎉Our Adventure Land Specialty featured a traveling Petting Zoo! Campers got to spend time petting and feeding a baby cow (calf), goats, rabbits, and ducks. With raving reviews from all units, this was a major highlight of Week 8.
🧬For STEM this week, campers use engineering and design to create blueprints of a structure, which they were then challenged to build based on their blueprints.
🚴♀️Bold Adventures campers hiked at the Ragged Mountain Hiking Trail on Monday (modified trip to due weather), took a tour of the Central Connecticut State University campus on Thursday, and reached new heights at Fun In Jump Park in Middletown on Friday. (Due to high winds, the excursion to TreeTrails Adventures Mystic has been rescheduled by the facility to Wednesday, August 14, 2024.)
NEXT WEEK – WEEK 9 “SENSATIONAL SCIENCE” 🧪
Don’t be scared, it’s just science! Campers will explore new and strange areas of science that push their mind and skills to the limit. Allowing them to build and create their own projects while learning about the principles of engineering and design. They will learn about famous engineers and participate in building-themed games and activities.
