Week 3 Recap and Week 4 Bulletin

Week 3 was a short but impactful week! This week, camp focused on self-esteem, mindfulness, self-care, and healthy bodies.

🖌️Girls participated in hands on minds activities creating crafts such as stress balls, bath bombs, and personal journals.

👟Physical activities included team building exercises and games to increase positive peer interaction, mindful breathing exercises, stretching , and dance to get their bodies moving.

🎉Girls in grades 5, 6, 7, and 8 had a special lesson focused on Girls Health education provided by Girls Inc. trained Unit Coordinator, that included some takeaways such as feminine hygiene products and stress relieving tools.

🧬This week’s STEAM Challenge involved creating a sturdy and tall “Gratitude Tower” with their peers using index cards and tape. Each camper was tasked with writing what they are grateful for, as they added each piece to their structure.

⭐Congratulations to Unit 1 for being recognized as the Unit of the week for their team building skills and STEAM Stars for the week are Mariella Mejias and Autumn Williamson from Unit 1!

🛏️On Wednesday, campers and staff wore their comfiest pajamas!

🚴‍♀️Our Bold Adventures (Unit 7/8) campers visited AMC Theater in Plainville where they watched Inside Out 2 on Monday. On Tuesday, Leaders in Training (Unit 9+) joined the group and enjoyed making their own pottery creations at Kiln’ It Pottery Studio. Finally, on Wednesday they hiked at Sleeping Giant State Park.
